Not So Traditional Tuesdays #10This little feature is now into the double digits of editions

. This wasn't something I that had I planned on doing. Originally this was just a one off article because I was bored one day, and started typing in random search words. It is still fun to do though, so I think it will keep going until it no longer is.
The things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can
learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see! You can however take what you learn from them and incorporate that into your own work. It could be the difference between stagnating and that breakthrough every artist wants to find! Now on with the show!

Celebrating Diversity #1Welcome to this new series of Art Features! Even tho most of you are aware of the many many galleries and categories here on dA, I think most of us move in a sort of "comfort zone" between Galleries, Channels or Groups that provide us with a constant flow of new art. And sometimes we forget all the other great artforms, styles and media that are out of our "comfort zone". Traditional Tuesdays #41Hi, and welcome to the 41st edition of Traditional Tuesdays. This week, like all of the other weeks, I'll be featuring fifteen works of art from the Traditional Gallery. Any more than that might and you might loss interest or it could cause your monitor to fail in an explosion of awesomeness. I would feel guilty if that were to happen, so I'm keeping it at fifteen! The Traditional gallery is a vast storeroom of work that covers many mediums and genres. I've tried to show a diverse array of artwork, but I don't have room for them all. I just wonder how in the world the shuttle would get on top of a 747!

Love the trains and the old ship!

Those old cars weighed a lot, used a load of gas, had no power steering or breaks and parking one was like parking a tank. They may be nice looking to some people, but my own memories of driving them are not particularly pleasant, especially when in an accident... especially prior to seat belts (shiver). And the rust! Don't even get me started!! I much prefer the cars today with antilock brakes, air bags and decent gas mileage!

For years and years, gas was 36.9 cents a gallon. Now and then there would be a gas war and prices would go to as low as a quarter. I could fill up a tank for $4.00. The trouble was the cars only got like a dozen miles to the gallon! I may be 61-years old but am not a Luddite. I like all the modern conveniences, my iPhone, my digital music, and my lovely Ford Taurus that glides down the road. The old cars are fine to view at a show, but I would never want to have to drive one ever ever again
