Not So Traditional Tuesdays #10This little feature is now into the double digits of editions

. This wasn't something I that had I planned on doing. Originally this was just a one off article because I was bored one day, and started typing in random search words. It is still fun to do though, so I think it will keep going until it no longer is.
The things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can
learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see! You can however take what you learn from them and incorporate that into your own work. It could be the difference between stagnating and that breakthrough every artist wants to find! Now on with the show!

Traditional Tuesdays #52OMG OMFG OMFG! This is week fifty-two of this little article, and I can honestly say that I didn't think it would last this long. The night I started this feature, I was bored and just browsing around the Traditional Gallery. I was finding all kinds great artwork, that for one reason or another I couldn't/wouldn't give a DD. It could be because they had a DD recently, but mainly it was for a link to go back and see what they created next, and if they took it to the next level. Now it's more for artwork that I no longer have time to DD, I can't DD everything! I still find the article fun to do, and I'll keep doing it until it no longer is. Digital drawing. Digital painting. Same thing?Hello, dA!
As you may be aware, we are in the process of revisiting gallery descriptions and making sure that all of our submissions categories make sense and are useful to you. We also want to make sure that categories are mutually exclusive so that people don't submit their deviations to the wrong galleries/categories by mistake.
This process brought out a very interesting conversation among some members of the CV team. Specifically, we started talking about what, fundamentally, the difference between digital drawing and digital painting was. Does it depend on brush strokes? Is there some technique used on one but not the other? What sets the two apart?
. . . OR, are they essentially the same thing?
