I've seen this question countless times now. And I decided to answer it
Core Member ( formerly Premium Member) 'til Hell freezes over......
Basically it means that the owner of the account (deviant) has the perks of being a Core Member until forever, but that is only for Volunteers and Staff Members.
Some time ago, deviantART made it possible that you can buy the status for yourself, and it lasts for 7 years.
So who receives it?
Staff Members , Volunteers (and those who bought the status! )For Staff and Volunteers, after their term is over or they step down from their positions, they become Senior Members. Their 'til Hell Freezes over Premium Membership doesn't go away.
Why?
Becasue they work and worked really hard for the Community and deviantART.And don't you think that this is a really nice way to thank them?
Just imagine! All the Volunteers and Staff works really hard to help everyone, help run the site smoothly.

New Username SymbolsAs part of our ongoing process to make the user experience cleaner and more intuitive, we've launched a new set of username symbols designed to help easily identify deviant-types.
Easily Identifiable
At a glance, the new symbols are quickly recognizable. When hovering over a username symbol, a tooltip appears, providing a brief explanation of that user's deviant-type. If clicked, a modal appears, giving a brief explanation for each username symbol, with "Learn more" links that lead to more detailed explanations.

Over the years, a few things have come to seem like deviantART mainstays. Deviant green, intricate art categorization, colorful avatars, symbols next to usernames. In our constant re-evaluation of what's best for longtime deviants and new users alike, we do sometimes need to stop and ask ourselves if a makeover for some aspect isn't overdue. Changing username symbols was one of the harder things we evaluated.

Well hello there, It has been a minute. Hasn't it? I sometimes still creep around in the shadows and browse art. Sadly however, I rarely do art these days. I just seem to have lost my art fuel. But, never say never! How have you been? My mental health is not doing great sadly. I am going to therapy every month and have been for the past year. Covid and work mixed with personal issues seem to have taken a toll on me. B ut fear not, I am stronger than I look :) I dont promise to be active around here again. But will pop up here and there. Hi there, How are you doing? How is your mental wellness? How do you cope with what this virus has created? I'm personally so over it, but at least I still have my job - I work in the service industry, as a Facility manager in a coffee shop - and I am not sick. My family is doing okay. Recently I have started studying Spanish to occupy my mind. What do you do to achieve the same? ¿Hablas español? Sadly i don't really create art these days, I don't have the inspiration or the patience. I mainly doodle here and there. Show me your latest artwork or fav work! Adding thumbs to journals?
What is going on? I think many of you know I used to post loads of features on here. I really enjoyed doing those. With this whole site update, I don't seem to be able to find the option for adding thumbs of deviations into journals anymore? How does one do that? I feel like I am on a totally different site, don't seem to be able to navigate anymore. Which makes me really sad and hopeless. Sta.sh is not the same either. Why? I am so lost. Can someone help?
