Hello there
I'm `
dekorAdum, and my duty at #
Urban-and-Rural is to feature submitted artworks. We decided to change the way we do it, and instead of themes & Featured folders, we decided to pick only one Member and make a little interview with them to get to know our members a little more and I'll feature amazing U&R photographers every second week!
First of all, thank you so much *
VerticalDubai for taking time and let me interview you!
#1 When did you start taking Urban & Rural Photos?
I started doing this kind of photography when I moved to Dubai in early 2008. Ever since, I have tried to improve my skills. I am usually a very relaxed person, but I become very active when it comes to taking pictures and editing them. I believe, one has to be picky and hard on yourself to achieve good results.
#2 What kind of equipment do you own for taking photos?
I use a Nikon D700 and usually all my shots are wideangle. You really can't ever have enough wideangle when it comes to architectural photography in Dubai... I use the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 lens for almost all my shots and it is just the best wideangle lens in the world. Apart from using a quality lens, though, equipment is not important at all. Neither are the settings... most of my pics have more or less the same EXIF. The secret lies in choosing a color temperature, making the right adjustments in Lightroom and applying the right amount of sharpening.
#3 Do you have a favourite Urban & Rural Photographer here on deviantART?
There are many awe-inspiring works here on DA, but I don't have any idols. Just check out my Favourites to see what stuff I like

#4 What are your favourites from your own gallery and why?
#5 How or why did you start taking U&R related photos?
I got into architectural photography because of the great opportunities here in Dubai. I instantly fell in love with this vibrant place and its positive energy - although I actually prefer nature and vast landscapes over any city. I'd rather see myself getting more into landscape photography, but oh well, being able to do this sort of photography on a daily basis is fair enough

Thanks for interviewing me and best regards from Dubai!
Sebastian
