The Importance of Community Support: What is a Community?
     When one thinks of a community, some words might come into play...maybe these: caring, supportive, familiarity, safe, helpful, united to promote a common interest or idea....that stuff. But, a community does not fit into a nice neat package. We use the word a lot, but it is important to ask more seriously what the term "community"  is.  A community is a sort of "construct"; We can't see a community, nor touch it, or directly experience it. Just like a snowflake, no two communities are exactly alike. They may share the same ideals, but the personal experiences will always be different. A community is not only the people in it-- but what was already established long ago, and which would continue to grow through the ages. Take DeviantART for example. This site I believe when it first started up, wasn't as big as it is now. But due to
PE Interview with DD Suggester Minato-KushinaAs part of Daily Deviations PE week we have interviewed the lovely `Minato-Kushina who has been suggesting DDs since November 2010.  She has since then had over 500 suggestions accepted and as a result of her regular suggestions, made her name known on the DD page.
What first got you interested in wanting to suggest DDs?
I don't really remember the exact point when I started paying attention to DDs. I guess, I saw these beautiful pictures at the bottom of my page. Gradually, I understood that they were a kind of "award" for outstanding pieces. I was also wondering how some people could suggest DDs! By searching here and there, I found the way.
I eventually decided to send my first suggestion to ^rydi1689, the then Fan Art Gallery Moderator. She is so kind, she accepted it immediately! This encouraged me to suggest more and eventually to love this task. I am generally shy with others. So this gesture, although it may seemed normal to her, it was
Getting the Most out of dA: GroupsGroups are a platform on deviantART which allow you to share your art - what it is primarily used for. Immediately, once your art is accepted into the Gallery, your art is sent to the message centres of many members of that particular group, gaining you instant and wider exposure. Color is the aspect of things that is caused by differing qualities of light being reflected or emitted by them, as received by the human eye and processed by the human brain. It is a function of light and biology, not an exact science, no two people can see it exactly the same.
The human eye and brain together translate light into color. Light receptors within the eye transmit messages to the brain, which produces the familiar sensations of color. Newton observed that color is not inherent in objects. Rather, the surface of an object reflects some colors and absorbs all the others. We perceive only the reflected colors. Thus, red is not "in" an apple. The surface of the apple is reflecting the wavelengths we see as red and absorbing all the rest. An object appears white when it reflects all wavelengths and black when it absorbs them all.

Privlasses (Privilege Classes) are like groups what can be customized. Each group has privileges (abilities or rights) what can be given and taken by the Founder or other chatroom moderators with admin rights.

Well we’ve had a fascinating week so far; a week which hopefully has provided some insight not only to the process of DD selection but helped you understand what we look for in DDs as CVs. As we draw to the end of this week, I bring you an article which will whet your Saturday with thoughts that don’t just apply to the DD feature, but something which should be a consideration to everything you submit to dA. I am talking about deviation presentation.
Why is Presentation important?
Art isn’t always about just being “creative”. There are techniques and skills which develop over time which contribute to the quality of the work you produce and alongside this comes a developed understanding of good presentation.
Good presentation could be anything from cropping a photograph, to spell checking your literature. These are common sense things that in the rush of wanting to show off your creativity can sometimes be
PE DDs: When It's Not Always PositiveWhen DDs Go Awry
Daily Deviations, or “DDs,” are frequently held in very high esteem on deviantART. After all, what artist does not want his or her work displayed for more than 20 million viewers to see and admire? The benefits of receiving a DD feature include increased exposure for your work and a day in the spotlight for you as an artist. Many people therefore view DDs as badges of honor, awards that make them proud and validate the time they spend in our community.

Don’t get us wrong-- DDs are wonderful for the purposes listed above. But, they can also bring a lot of drama upon the artist, especially if they are controversial.

Hi there,

So I decided to start +forum Tutorials too since the ChatNetwork ones are pretty popular and a lot of people said it's easy to understand it and it makes me happy :)
Not to mention that I wouldn't like to leave out the Forums since it's an important part of deviantART too! So let's get started!

BUT before we do anything - I'd like to ask you to read the following FAQ!

How to post a thread?!


I get asked a lot from newbies to the Forums that how can one submit a thread? There is no button for it and they can't see any links or something! :noes:
It's really easy! All you have to do is select the appropriate Forum you'd like to post your thread to and scroll down a little!

For example let's say that you'd like to promote your chatroom or group here on deviantART!
The right place to do that is the

Groups, Chatrooms & Events Forum!

Important: Always read the sticky threads before posting! They contain every information you'd require and rules to the Forums!


SO if you scroll down a little, you'll see the following part:



Just type in the subject, the body part and hit submit!
You can always use the 'Preview' function to check if the coding is right and the links and other tags :)

But please make sure that:
