Seniority Announcement: April 2024
Seniority has been a cornerstone of DeviantArt since its early years, and is an award given to those who have made their mark on the community. These outstanding deviants have been recognized for their level of interaction, helpfulness with others, kindness, sincerity, and many other notable traits. These deviants can be recognized by the medal icon that appears next to their username, and in 23 years, fewer than 2,000 deviants have received Seniority. The following deviants, having shown a kindred spirit that has led to continued positive community interaction and involvement, are the most recent recipients of Seniority. Please join us in congratulating them! @Grim-Castlaire Though @Grim-Castlaire joined DeviantArt just three years ago, their impact is hard to overstate. An active member of the adoptables community, they’re always supportive of other artists and frequently suggest works to be featured as Daily Deviations. @Foolish-Hearts A prolific fan artist

Art Feature: Tattoos -- Identity in Indelible Ink
This curated feature is brought to you by @AlexanderPaupoff. The word tattoo has its origins in the Polynesian tatau (or tatu), which means “to puncture or mark the skin.” Tattooing involves inscribing the skin by inserting dyes or pigments under the dermis to form patterns or designs. This ancient practice of body decoration has evolved into a significant form of self-expression. Tattoos are more than just ink on skin—they reflect a person’s identity, beliefs, and experiences. They visually chronicle a journey, represent values and aspirations, and capture victories and tributes, allowing us to use our skin to construct our identities in deeply personal and profound ways. Typically, there’s an idea of permanence attached to tattoos. However, much like people, they’re quite changeable. Throughout our lives, tattoos transform in appearance and intensity, the same way we do as we age. They might be voluntarily changed, extended, covered up, or removed, and when we die, they
